University Innovation Fellows

The University Innovation Fellows (UIF) program is run by Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school) at Stanford University with 1,838 fellows at 258 global institutions. The program aims to empower students to become agents of change at their schools. You can find more details at universityinnovationfellows.org.

This year IUPUI will select and nominate up to four students for the UIF program. We cordially invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity. We are looking for fun, collaborative, action-oriented student leaders who want to work to make change happen at IUPUI

What Fellows do

Online training: Once approved by UIF, students will participate in a 6-week online training course, September 3 – October 17, 2019. During this course, expect to meet with your team at least once a week for 2 hours; the assignments are team based.

In-person meet ups: After completing the training program, all launched Fellows are invited to visit Stanford for the Silicon Valley Meetup. This event, usually held in March, allows Fellows to connect in-person with the national community and solidify what they learn through the online training. While IUPUI covers your fellowship program fee, you would need to find travel funding for attending this event.

IDEA Fellows Leadership Team:  Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship, Action (IDEA) Fellows is the student organization established by former UIF students to reach out students at IUPUI and Indiana in aligning with the aim of UIF program. Students who are selected for UIF will automatically join the the IUPUI IDEA Fellows Leadership Team. The leadership team meet 2 hours per week and econduct the following tasks with the team: workshops, events, and problem based projects.
